Hi, my name is Andrea & I've been married to Edward for over 40 years. We have 4 beautiful daughters, 3 son in laws, a dog, cats, chickens, 2 cockerels & a Peahen who found us & never left. Edward's been a horticultural farmer & borehole driller most of his life on his family farm.
He's my go to for growing advice.
I got into arranging flowers almost 40 years ago, and growing flowers about 7 years ago. I've been a florist off & on for years. Weddings, bouquets, flowers for special occasions & funerals. Worked in schools & College as a SEN & British Sign Language interpreter & teacher.
Then in 2019 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was a long hard journey. It caused mobility issues, which I am still suffering with, but this was how I got into growing sweet peas, using my fine motor skills. It is very hard work but 'wow' what a reward when they flower. They're still my number one flower.
Top Barn is a short distance out of Newent, Gloucestershire. It's situated in a stunning location. It over looks a valley of apple orchards, wood lands, open fields & on a clear day the top of Gloucester Cathedral shines.
I think the location adds to the love & romance thats gone into each individual flower, care & deep appreciation for the soil & environment around us.
